So he commented on one of my girls one day and I went to peep his gallery and definitely liked what I saw. So one afternoon while commenting on one of his pieces, I asked him about the chances that folks might see some of his lovely ladies in color. Well, he responded that he had yet to get involved in the digital painting aspect of things, so I asked if he'd mind me laying some paints over one of his pieces in photoshop. Well, he liked the idea and I chose a piece from his gallery...

The Return of the Librarian...

I've been revisiting some of my earliest EssBeeGirls in new pinups and one of my favorites from that very first group is The Librarian. Here she is in her second go 'round, and don't be too shocked if you see her yet again before New Year's!

When is a post not exactly a post?

When U start to post and then realize that you already posted the image you were about to post! So here's what we'll do... We'll pretend that this post is about something else entirely... Like a slight change to the Wild Oasis! logo! Yes, I added a semi hazy sunset and I think once I get the letters JUST right, it'll be all done. Here it is in three different color schemes... Mo' Wild Oasis!

Yes, I know, it's been quite a while since I've dropped a post on the ol' blogspot, but trust me, I been busy! So here's what's up. I've been gettin back to my artistic roots in terms of style for the ladies of W2O. The character designs that are up on the W2O deviantART page are more or less from 1999, when I was trying on a different style, particularly on the ladies. Trust me, I NEVER penciled women that waifish before! But that's all yesterday's news cause the redesigns have brought me back home. No, they aren't as juicy as my EssBeeGirls, but I think they're doin alright. Peep the rough pencils on Rebecca del Fuego & Dee Dee Gunn...

Mo' Plate Doodles!

Yep, did a couple more plate doodles. I kinda like these lil things. Drawing on the plates is kinda entertaining for me and of course, it's great exercise with the colored pencils... I just might get my money's worth out of those Derwents after all! More doodles to come in the future. Until then, enjoy and... Stay Tooned!

Plate Doodles!!!

So here I am, minding the birthday cake at my younger brother's 30th birthday bash when I get this urge to draw. I get a pen from my older brother, grab a stack of paper plates (which were there for the cake) and start doodling away. I'm just flexing some poses at this point, trying things on to see if I might wanna expand on 'em. I do five doodles on five plates and then I get this idea for some quick EssBee Girl hits in colored pencil on paper plates. I haven't broken out the Derwents in AGES! I think it could be something, so stay tooned for those. Until then, here are the 'platedoodles'...

Pirates, Honies and Heroes

Here's the first of my Wild Oasis! posts and it features the power half of my dynamic duo, Livinstone "Trini" Trinidad. Expect to see Trini's partner, Samantha Lord Hall very soon. She'll complain if I post Trini and she doesn't get her own shine. Here we go folks!

The Quintessential EssBee is officially on the air! Why the title? Simply put, although my big girls will likely spend a lot of time on center stage here, this blog will be about ALL of my artistic endeavors. I've got a comic book that I've been developing for a little while by the name of Wild Oasis!, and yes, the question mark is part of the title. I've got other writings that I've been working on as well, graphic novels, short stories and such. The trouble for me is, I have difficulty focusing on the writing and the drawing at the same time. Talk about a mixed bag, but eh, what are ya gonna do, right? Creativity is a gift and ya gotta take it as it comes. So as it keeps coming, I'll keep going! So I'll be sharing some art and some writing and stuff, but MOSTLY ART, cause I know that's what the kiddies like these days. Thanks for dropping by, and... Stay tooned!
